I AM ENCOURAGED!  And, I want to encourage you on today.  As I was reading my daily devotional I came to this passage of scripture in Deuteronomy Chapter 7 Verse 6-9 which says, “For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. (7) The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: (8) But because the Lord loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the Lord brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. (9) Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;”

I am chosen of the Lord, so are you!  How often do we forget that God hath chosen us and that we are special to Him!  Wow!  And, the Lord has chosen to set his love upon me and He has brought me out so many times of difficult situations, trials and tribulations that why should I doubt him now?  Is He not the same yesterday, today and forever?  Is He not Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end?  Reading this passage of scripture has reminded me of my spiritual heritage, I have been chosen by God Almighty, because He loves me!  What greater love is there, than the love of God?  His love is unconditional and eternal. 

Verse 9 says, “Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God . . .” I need to remind myself daily that I know God as my God, and that He is God above every situation and circumstance, He is omnipotent (all powerful) omniscient (all seeing) and omnipresent (ever present, He can be in all places and at any time He so chooses) because He is God above every other god, and there is none like Him anywhere!  What a Mighty God we serve.  Know (to be aware of, to be assured of, to have personal knowledge of) I know God, I know Him as my Heavenly Father, the Divine Creator of heaven and earth.  There is none like Him, no not one.  Who can stand before Him?  Only the righteous the pure of heart and meek in spirit.  When I was reading this verse the scripture leaped at me, my spirit jumped as the connection was made, YOU KNOW GOD, HE IS GOD, THE FAITHFUL GOD.

God has been, will be and is faithful.  The song says, He may not come when you want Him, but He is right on time.  As I look back, I remember those difficult times in my life that God brought me through, He was there for me when I needed Him, He never left me or forsook me and in my darkest hour, when I thought I was all alone, He was there with me, because He is The Faithful God.  I know that if it had not been for the Lord who was on my side, I might not be sitting here writing today!  He has kept me from hurt, harm and danger so many times I have lost count.  I know him as Jehovah-Jireh The Lord is my provider, Jehovah-Shalom, The Lord is my peace, Jehovah-Rophe The Lord is my healer, and yes there are many other names that I can relate to, but these are the ones that are the most familiar to me.  For each of us, we need to remind ourselves of our personal relationship with God, and how do you relate to Him?  Encourage yourself and remember that the Lord He is God, and that You know Him and what He can do, because “He is The Faithful God which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.” Duet.7:9
