Imagine that you have before
you a small or medium size box that is closed. The box interior represents confinement,
it is an enclosure, nothing gets in, except for what was previously shut or put in it, and nothing comes or gets out, unless
the box is opened. Those things that were previously put or shut in represent
a person’s past, don’t get stuck in the past. Be willing to step
out beyond the confinements of the box. The box can represents safety and security. Regardless of the size of the box, once it is closed and sealed the contents are secure
from the outside elements and conditions. You don’t see what’s in
the enclosed box, it is hidden from public view.
(Leviticus 5:2)
Or if a soul touch any unclean thing, whether it be a carcase of an unclean beast, or a carcase of unclean cattle,
or the carcase of unclean creeping things, and if it be hidden from him; he also shall
be unclean, and guilty.
People
usually hide something that they don’t want others to see or view. They
want to keep it a secret, personal and private. Many times we allow sin into
our lives in various forms, and we keep that sin hidden deep within our hearts until the Holy Spirit reveals it unto us through
the written or spoken word of God or it’s revealed to the prophet. Sin
makes a person unclean and unrighteous before God, regardless of whether it is openly done in public view or it is done in
secret behind closed doors and hidden away, the person is still guilty of an offense before God.
(1 Corinthians 2:7)
But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which
God ordained before the world unto our glory:
God’s
wisdom is beyond the human’s mind conception, this is why we need to pray and ask God for His wisdom. The Holy Spirit, is the Spirit of Truth reveals to us those things that are hidden deep within a person,
even those gifts, talents and abilities given by God that have yet to be revealed to an individual who may be unaware of their
existence, at the appointed time those things which have been enclosed, confined and kept hidden in our hearts will be brought
into the light of revelation which God ordained.
(1 Corinthians 4:5)
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will
bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every
man have praise of God.
When
things are hidden or enclosed in a box, they are hidden and kept from public view, the contents can’t be touched, because
they are not reachable or accessible as long as they remained confined inside of the box.
(Hebrews 4:15)
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted
like as we are, yet without sin. (4:16) Let us therefore come boldly unto the
throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Jesus
Christ who is our redeemer and savior, is able to cleanse us from all sin, every iniquity, transgression and unrighteous act,
deed and thought. He is our high priest, and the Holy Spirit makes intercession
on our behalf, it is though his mercy and loving kindness that we can obtain salvation, be washed, cleansed and set free from
things that were hidden and buried deep within the heart and mind that contaminates our souls and keeps us from righteous
living and behavior, sin separates us from God, grace and mercy restores us back to Him.
A box can also serve as a shield and covering for the contents within, to protect delicate, fragile
and sensitive items that might otherwise be destroyed or damaged. Whenever I
pack china or glassware that is valuable to me, I wrap those items in paper, plastic bubble and may cover them with a towel
as a cushion, I am taking precautions to make sure that these items don’t get broken or damaged while confined in the
box. Although they can’t be touched while they are enclosed in the box,
the box itself may be shaken or dropped, and if the contents placed within the box are not properly secured or covered, the
results could lead to me losing something valuable.
Things in a box can’t be admired for their beauty or enjoyed, because they are not to be shared
or given, at that time. We store things in boxes when we don’t have any
open space to place them. Some boxes are made strong and reinforced so they will
be sturdy, others boxes are weak and the bottom may be weak and will break or open and release any contents placed within
it. Some boxes have not closure, therefore the contents are not safe and secure,
because the box is open and anything can be taken out, or anything can fall in. Secret
and unwanted objects are kept in boxes, these things are put away until a purpose or use is found for them, or until they
are discarded and destroyed.
Jabez prayed unto the Lord for expansion and extension. He
wanted God to release the good things confined within him, he wanted to be blessed as well as be a blessing and he wanted
to be happy!
(1 Chronicles 4:10)
And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that
thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that
which he requested.
God has unlimited resources, untold wealth and prosperity and new territories without boundaries, restrictions
or inhibitions. We need to come out of the box so that the following things can
take place in our lives:
1. extension
2. expansion
3. enlargement
A change must take place beginning with our minds, we have our minds renewed daily and get rid of old
mind sets and thoughts that do not glorify God selfish thinking that inhibits, stunts or restricts advancement of our spiritual
and natural growth process that bring about maturity in God. We need to purge
our minds and get rid of negative thoughts that cause us to have doubt, fear and unbelief and not faith in God. (Romans 12:2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect,
will of God.
